Between Worlds: A love note from Founder and CEO of AMARI-X
I am of multiple worlds. I grew up in the fields of Mexico and under the California sun. My grandfather instilled in me a love for hard work and nature as we sowed seeds into the earth together. But as I traversed between these worlds, I realized that fashion could be more than just clothing—it was a way to express my identity, my heritage, and my individuality. It was my common thread.
Yet, in the world of fashion, I often found myself caught between categories. Neither the women’s section nor the men’s section seemed to accommodate me just right. As a queer, Mexican-Native-American woman, I felt the pressure to conform to cookie-cutter sizes and gender norms that didn’t align with who I truly am. And like so many others, I settled for clothing that wasn’t my first choice, contributing to the growing problem of textile waste.
But I refused to accept this status quo. I believe that fashion should tell a story—one that reflects the diverse experiences and identities of people like me. That’s why I founded AMARI-X—a brand with a mission to defy the constraints of traditional fashion. Here, we celebrate individuality, embracing all shapes, sizes, and identities without compromise.
With AMARI-X, I aim to create a space where people of all backgrounds feel seen, heard, and empowered. Our garments are more than just fabric and thread; they’re a statement of defiance against systems that seek to limit us. Together, we can redefine fashion, breaking free from outdated norms and forging a new path—one that’s inclusive, sustainable, and unapologetically authentic.
Join us as we journey beyond the binary, creating a world where everyone can express themselves freely and proudly. This is the beginning of AMARI-X—a brand built on the belief that fashion should be as diverse and vibrant as the people who wear it.
